Jackson Automotive Distributors was founded in 1975 by Bill Beauchamp. The first location was in the basement of his home on Jackson Street just outside of Oakland City.

The business quickly expanded from the basement to two other locations before moving to the current location at 125 E. Morton Street in Oakland City. The facility is conveniently located on Highway 64 in the Jackson Automotive Plaza. It consists of five other businesses and covers over 8,000 square feet of floor space.

The business has evolved from selling to wholesale garages and service stations to selling supplies to coal mines, factories, and trucking companies. Over the years the company has become a distributor for some of the top automotive and industrial products in the United States. In May 2023, Debra Weisling bought the business and now runs the day-to-day operations.
